New Photography Gallery - Western Australia Landscapes https://www.cherinahadley.com/blog/2018/3/new-photography-gallery-western-australia-landscapes

I am super excited to announce the launch of my latest project…an online gallery of Western Australian landscape photography which will feature some of the amazing picturesque landscapes we are privileged to have right at our doorstep here in Western Australia.

All of these stunning landscape photographs are available as Premium Canvas Prints in a range of sizes.

This new gallery will feature images from the Margaret River Region in Australia's South West; the Albany and Denmark in Western Australia's Great Southern region; Australia's Coral Coast; the great Perth region and Avon Valley; and the Pilbara in Australia's Northwest

Here’s a little preview above of a few of my fave places in this gorgeous state of ours...Hot air ballooning in the Avon Valley at sunrise; Storm chasing at Sugarloaf Rock near Dunsbrough in the Margaret River region; smoke-haze sunset at North Beach Jetty in Perth; and Fortescue Falls in Karijini National Park in the Pilbara.

Check out the new gallery here: Western Australian Landscapes

Enjoy and stay tuned for many more to follow! x

Photography Exhibition: Seven Hours, a winter pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago https://www.cherinahadley.com/blog/2017/7/photography-exhibition-seven-hours-a-winter-pilgrimage-on-the-camino-de-santiago

SEVEN HOURS is an exhibition of selected works of colour film photography by Cherina Hadley from a 5 week winter pilgrimage along the Camino Francés in Spain.

Pilgrims have walked the ancient paths of the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St James) for over a thousand years. Most pilgrims make the 800km crossing on foot from the French Pyrenees to the city of Santiago de Compostela in the north west of Spain, where it is believed that the martyred body of St James the Apostle is buried. The Camino officially ends on Spain's west coast at Cape Finisterre, considered in ancient times to be 'the edge of the world'.

SEVEN HOURS explores the profoundly solitary experience of making this pilgrimage in winter. It is a time when way-markers can be obscured by snow or heavy fog, pilgrim refuges are often vacant, fields are deserted and rustic Spanish villages appear abandoned.

This work offers a glimpse of some of the in-between moments of such a journey as the pilgrim moves slowly from one place to another: seven hours a day, every day for thirty three days.

The photographs from this series were captured on 35mm colour film using a technique called push processing, producing deliberately grainy images with unique colour contrasts.

EXHIBITION DATES: 11 August - 1 September 2017

Koffie Winkel - 1/222 James St, Northbridge

M-F: 6am-3pm

S-S: 7am-2pm
